01Overview & featuresPurpose and typical applications

The COT Adjustable Sub with Rotational Lock is an in-line tubing device designed to provide orientation between two sets of tubing assemblies.

Typical uses include aligning two downhole tubing units, such as dual string packers, or aligning tubing to hanger make-up. Once alignment is set, a series of teeth locks the swivel in position, providing a positive locking mechanism with high torque loading.

The CT-ASRL is available for standard or sour service conditions and is configured with standard tubing connections.

  • ±10° standard alignment
  • Positive mechanical locking
  • Standard tubing connections
  • Standard or sour service

03How it worksThe three-step orientation and locking sequence
  1. Release the ends

Back off the bottom ring by approximately 1.5 inches to allow the Box End and Pin End to disengage.

  2. Set the orientation

Orient the Box End and Pin End to the desired position, then bring the two ends together again.

  3. Secure the assembly

Make up the bottom ring tight and lock it with screws to secure the selected orientation.
