The Swab Cup Assembly with Yieldable Ball Seat is installed in the run-in string below the liner running tools (typically below RPB®). The Swab Cup Assembly with Yieldable Ball Seat provides a means to temporarily plug the liner running string and allow hydraulic pressure to be applied to hydraulically set liner hangers and release HRRT Running Tools.
A setting ball is circulated to the Yieldable Ball Seat in the assembly which provides a tubing seal to apply pressure to actuate the hydraulic set liner hanger and release the HRRT Running tool (if used). Once the hanger is set and setting tool released, an increase in pressure will yield the ball seat and allow the ball to pass through and fall to bottom. Circulation can now be re-established. When the pump down plug arrives at the yieldable ball seat, it will land and pressure will then be applied to further yield the ball seat, passing the pump down plug.
