Conventional Liner Hanger

The Mechanical Liner Hanger With Integrated Packer of COT® provide a method for suspending a liner off bottom and in tension by anchoring, or hanging, and Integrated Packer with Bonded element provide an excellent seal that can be used to control annular gas migration or protect sensitive zones from well hydro-statics after cementing. Mechanical Liner hangers are set in bottom by giving 1/4 right hand turn to the string then give slack off weight on the hanger.

The Integrated packers are set from the top after cementing using the Packer Setting Tool/ RH Running tool dogs on the tie back receptacle. Weight is applied by the work string to energize the element, which is then locked in place with the internal ratchet assembly.

  • No Special Materials – Liner hanger is made from commonly available steels.
  • Inventory Simplicity – For a given liner/casing size, the same can be run on the most exotic or elementary hook-up.
  • Distribution of Radial Slip Load – By optimizing the slip/seat bearing surfaces, the radial slip/ casing load is circumferentially distributed by the slip to the seat. This type of hanger loading protects the liner pipe from collapse loads.
  • No Casing Damage – At rated load capacities, the causes no plastic deformation of the pipe in which it is set.
  • Threads – Both ends of the body have a full pipe OD, which allows for cutting most premium threads.
  • Body is manufactured from mechanical tubing to equivalent grade of liner 110,000 psi yield strengths is standard. Other yield strengths and materials available on request.
  • Slips are manufactured to hardness of 57-64 Rockwell “C” scale for use in the highest grade casing strings.
  • No pipe manipulation required to set hanger.
  • Slips Protected- While running in, the hanger slips are mechanically contained under tool OD and protected in the Cone Premium Teflon seals for high temperature/pressure applications.
  • Large slip area supports long/heavy liner loads.
  • Large by-pass area for circulation and cementing.
  • Integrated Packer assembly set by compression weight on tie-back sleeve.
  • Tieback 10′, 12’, 15′ and 20′ lengths standard and Other lengths are available as required.
