Circulating Differential Fill-Up Collar

Circulating Differential Fill-Up Collar allows 90% casing fill-up during running-in, reducing surge pressure caused by the piston effect of running in restricted I.D.’s. Use of differential collar provides additional buoyancy by allowing only 81% casing fill-up further enhancing works efficiency.

Differential Collar type is pressure and cementing plug activated. Circulating can be established at any time while running in. Dropping a ball converts the differential valve to a regular back-pressure valve. When Shoe and Collar are run together, dropping one ball converts both units.

  • Circulating Differential Fill-Up Collar is sleeve type double flapper assembly, circulating fill up shoe/collar, complete with flapper type back pressure valve which is bonded & surrounded by a high strength cement & U-grooves in the walls to form a strong unit. It is drillable.
  • There is additional feature of this types of shoe/collar is that there is no requirement of filling the casing by fluid during running in, it has automatic differential fill up feature that saves running in time.
  • Application of 500 ~ 800 psi will shear the brass pin (9), then lock ring (7) will reach to the locking position & that will permanently lock the both flappers (15) &  (5) for differential back pressure. But we can continue fill the casing from upwards.
  • Application of 1000~1200 psi the sleeve will be open & tripping ball will fall down.
  • Valves used in shoe/collar are PDC drillable.
